My worst brush was actually my first. I bought one of those walmart mu brush gift sets. Oh those are terrible, they don't pick anything up, they shed and I actually scratched my eyelid with the blending brush. So for a week it looked like a kitty had mauled my eye.
Worst brush ever purchased? Hmm..probably a Prescriptives eye paint brush. Good for NOTHING! Absolutely nothing at all. Doesn't pick up ANY pigmentation despite me rubbing it in powder eyeshadows, paints etc.
@bruna marx: I actually purchased a skunk brush from Coastal Scents and it did smell at first but the smell was gone after I washed it! Didn't shed for me and I still use it 
Maybe I got a good one hehe
Worse brush ever... EASY... E.L.F. Blush brush.. Upon the first swipe over my face it shed and felt like I was dragging itch hay over my cheek, terrible even for one $1 US.. 
I haven't had any worst brushes yet...yay!!!
The worst brush I ever bought was a Sonia Kashuck (sp?) version of MAC's 187 because I was too broke to buy the real thing. It wasn't dense at all and shedded like crazy and I should have saved my $ because I eventually purchased the 187 after this dud.

My worst brush that I ever bought was an eyeshadow brush. It did not pick any color and it was stiff and the handle broke when I first used it. I bought it at a beauty salon store and purchased
it because it looked cool and it was useless.tears...
Worst brush every was the all over face brush from ELF. it was harsh against my skin!
Seriously, I didn't know any better and bought some cheap brushes from a outlet store, seems obvious, doesn't it? Well, I tried an "eyeliner" brush and bristles immediately fell out into my eye. So not only did I not put my makeup on well, my eye was blood shot and irritated for the rest of the day.
The worst brush I ever brought were ECO Tools brushes. It did not blend well plus it shed like crazy.
my worst is coastal scents brushes...it smells so bad and it sheds like crazy...totally a waste of money
